STOP FAST TRACK -- the TPP Is A Disaster
Obama, as usual, is selling us out. When will people wake the fuck up and realize he's no better than Bush?? The Trans-Pacific Partnership is a global disaster, and he's trying to shove it down our throats -- with the full support of Republicans and plenty of Democrats, for those of you Dems who still don't get it. And one of the worst provisions, essentially outlawing the BDS movement, was written by Maryland's own Sen. Ben Cardin. Call, email, write, and call, call, call your Congressional reps. TSA and DHS, making a list, checking it twice
We've only been saying it for years.
In the United States of Homeland, the government keeps lists. Lists of "good guys" and "bad guys." We aren't allowed to know who's on those lists, how they got on, why they got on, if they're on in error, or how they can get off. If they're even on, which they're not allowed to know.

Gaza: We Are Responsible
Our great poet and national conscience, Chris Hedges:
. . . The unanimous U.S. Senate vote in support of the Israeli attacks on Gaza, the media’s slavish parroting of Israeli propaganda, and the Obama administration’s mindless repetition of pro-Israeli clichés have turned us into cheerleaders for Israeli war crimes. We fund and abet these crimes with $3.1 billion a year in military aid to Israel. We are responsible for the slaughter. No one in the establishment, including our most liberal senator, Bernie Sanders, dares defy the Israel lobby. And since we refuse to act to make peace and justice possible we should not wonder why the Palestinians carry out armed resistance.
The Palestinians will reject, as long as possible, any cease-fire that does not include a lifting of the Israeli blockade of Gaza. They have lost hope that foreign governments will save them. They know their fate rests in their own hands. The revolt in Gaza is an act of solidarity with the world outside its walls. It is an attempt to assert in the face of overwhelming odds and barbaric conditions the humanity and agency of the Palestinian people. There is little in life that Palestinians can choose, but they can choose how to die. And many Palestinians, especially young men trapped in overcrowded hovels where they have no work and little dignity, will risk immediate death to defy the slow, humiliating death of occupation.
I cannot blame them.

Another namby-pamby Congressional response to TSA abuse
As we've been reporting here for years, many of us have used all sorts of methods to fight TSA abuse.

New GAO report again finds TSA waste; Congress clueless
One of our esteemed members of Congress has once again opened his mouth and revealed how out of touch he is with not only his constituents, but reality in general. He's also only too happy to spend more of their -- and our -- money on the TSA, believing that the $8 billion a year we already pay to be bullied, harassed, robbed, and assaulted isn't enough.

Dianne Feinstein the Hypocrite, Part Deux
As I wrote on March 12, 2014, Dianne Feinstein is a hypocrite. She was fine with the egregious, relentless spying on us peons by the "intelligence" agencies, but got her knickers in a twist when that spying was suddenly turned on her.
It's the same with hypocrites everywhere: it's always okay when other people take it on the chin; it's just not okay when you or yours do.

Dianne Feinstein the Hypocrite
Funny how people get religion only when they're personally affected. Similar to Gabby Giffords, I might add, who now is all in favor of gun control. But until she got shot, she didn't give a shit.

Congress, unwilling to stop TSA from abusing passengers, wants it to be polite
U.S. Rep. Gerry Connolly has your back. The Democrat from Virginia is threatening the TSA. And boy, he means business.

Happy New Year from the Hypocrites
The great Ted Rall, once again speaking the truth. But the Obamabots still don't want to listen. (And for the umpteenth time, no, the Republicans aren't any better. When will you get it through your heads that "Red Team! Blue Team!" is a farce? Both teams are screwing you, people. When are you going to effing learn??)

TSA’s John Pistole shovels the shit yet again redux
The media are once again doing the TSA’s dirty work for it. Who needs PR flacks when you have newspapers, TV, radio, and the internet?

Jen Sorensen: Why Can't They Compromise?
The great Jen Sorensen (thank god we're lucky enough to have brilliant political cartoonists; otherwise, I don't know how we'd get through the day, surrounded as we are by so many bullshitters, bloviators, liars, fascists, sociopaths, and just plain morons):
