Well, as predicted, Obama is once again striving to prove he's just as clueless, blinkered, and warmongering as his predecessor. It's hard to tell anymore who in the stupidity sweepstakes is winning.

Fiddling, Fracking, and In General Fucking Things Up

Fracking is not only causing toxic contamination of aquifers and setting faucets on fire, it's also causing earthquakes. So what is the U.S. doing? Doubling down, of course. When you find a failed policy, when you have incontrovertible evidence that what you're doing is harming people, why of course you do more of it! 

Just as with Prohibition. More people were dying of alcohol poisoning during Prohibition than had been dying of it before, so of course the U.S. government made Prohibition laws even more stringent. Better yet, it made alcohol more poisonous!

As I wrote on March 12, 2014, Dianne Feinstein is a hypocrite. She was fine with the egregious, relentless spying on us peons by the "intelligence" agencies, but got her knickers in a twist when that spying was suddenly turned on her.

It's the same with hypocrites everywhere: it's always okay when other people take it on the chin; it's just not okay when you or yours do.

Mandela Dies, Obama Lies

The news that Nelson Mandela has died is, of course, bringing forth a ton of speeches, tributes, and encomia from all over the world. Not surprising, most of it self-serving. Let's recall that Mandela was taken off the U.S.'s official list of "terrorists" only in 2008. And that the CIA outed his whereabouts to the South African apartheid regime in 1962.

The transcript of Obama's comments is particularly galling. I know this man lies through his teeth as smoothly as any snake oil salesman, but he outdid himself yesterday:
